Private Peaceful

by Michael Morpurgo

(Adapted by Robert Staunton)

Stage Left Theatre Workshop have built seating blocks like those they use at the Organ Grinder for Market Bosworth School and over the past few months John Tillotson working with their drama teacher and students from the school have produced 'Private Peaceful' by Michael Morpurgo (adaptation by Robert Staunton). Here we see their drama studio set out with our blocks and theirs for this production on the 11th & 12th November.

Any school interested in working with us on similar projects should contact John Tillotson using our form on the Friends of Stage Left page.

Set for ‘Private Peaceful’ with blocks in place and seats installed ready for performances.

CONGRATULATIONS to the young performers at Market Bosworth School. On the 11th and 12th November they performed ‘Private  Peaceful’ 3 times. On the Tuesday to a school’s audience in the morning and then 2 further evening performances on the 11th & 12th. Audiences were stunned by the quality of their work, which was strong, thoughtful and moving.

‘Stage Left Theatre Workshop’ are pleased to have supported this project, both in making seating blocks for the school and in providing support with  direction and technical support rigging and operating lights and sound for the performances.

STAGE LEFT THEATRE WORKSHOP MADE NO CHARGE FOR HELPING DIRECT ‘PRIVATE PEACEFUL’ AND SUPPORTING THIS PERFORMANCE TECHNICALLY. WE WERE VERY GRATEFUL THAT THE HEAD INSISTED ON PAYING US FOR THE DAY RIGGING LIGHTS FOR THE SHOW. THE SCHOOL PAID FOR THE BLOCKS WE MADE FOR THEM, BUT NO CHARGE WAS MADE FOR OUR BLOCKS USED TO SUPPLEMENT THESE, IN CREATING THE THEATRE SPACE IN THEIR STUDIO.

Please contact John Tillotson via our on-line form if your school, community group would be interested in exploring working with Stage Left Theatre Workshop.
